The RDS National Crafts Competition in its present form has been held annually
since 1968 to promote Irish craft and design. Growing in stature each year, it
is the major Irish crafts industry competition, allowing both professional and
amateur craft designers to exhibit and promote their work.

Crafts Council of Ireland Bursary
2006
The Crafts Council recognises that Irish craft is driven by creativity, and it
is this dynamic that has led to a vibrant indigenous industry that is a natural
meeting point for culture and commerce. The Crafts Council Bursary is awarded
to support and recognise the achievements of professional craftspeople in the
creative development of their craft, which will lead to new opportunities in
their practice.
